I've finally gotten tired of tossing my guns back in their original cases to cart them to the range so I'm assembling a nice range bag. So far I have the necessities, room for the fire arms, eye and ear protection, room for a few hundred rounds of ammo. What else do you guys have that you use on a regular basis?
My range bag holds things I need at the range, other than my firearms. I have other bags for firearms, both rifles and handgun. My range bag has small pockets along the inside and out side, on both sides. The middle holds a collapsible cleaning rod, usually a carton of 22lr ammo, a box or 38 special, and a few boxes of 223 ammo. Also in the middle is room for a spotting scope, ear plugs, 4 different sizes of those nylon flexible bore snakes and 4ea 10-22 magazines. The small pockets on the inside hold 6 Ruger Mk1 & Mk II magazines, a box of staples, various small tools. The outside pockets hold a staple gun, small hammer, small adjustable wrench, needle nose pliers, allen wrench set, tweezers, SKS sight adjusting key, kit containing brass and aluminum punches, pistol cleaning rod and bushes that go with it., screw driver set. Also have a roll of targets in the middle section of the bag.

Only thing I can add to the above post that is in my range bag are cell phone, car keys, tape, extra magazines, bag to collect spent brass, wet wipes (to wash lead off hands), and a small general 1st aid kit including Israeli battle dressing & 14 gauge needle.

Sounds like your range bag is pretty well stocked. I usually have my cell phone in a shirt pocket and car keys in my pants pocket. At our range a large building is near our pistol range where we store a variety of targets, eye glasses, ear plugs, tables, chairs and just about anything we need for a match. In the room which is used as a kitchen and class room/meeting room we have a very large metal box with a huge collection of first aid supplies. I have a key to our building and a key to the storage locker inside used by the cowboy club I belong to. I'm going to add wet wipes to my range bag in the next couple of days. I forgot to mention shooting gloves I keep in my bag.
I would add a stapler to quickly hang your paper targets so you do not have to deal with tape. This helps when you initially get on the range and need to get set everything set up in what ever is left of the cease fire window. You do not want everybody being held up waiting on you. Otherwise it is just more convenient than tape.
Couple things I need to add, range book, wet wipes. Phone, keys, and flashlight are always in pockets or on the belt. Some stuff I don't need as I only have access to an indoor range, they supply the stapler
Do you have some Advil or Alleve in there to help with the shoulder ache? Maybe an instant cold pack?
Well luckly, the range I go to I can back up to the shooting bench, drop the tail gate and put the bag there.....works out realy good actualy...
