Sarah McKinley, 18, shot and killed intruder Justin Martin with a 12-gauge shotgun when he and another man tried to break into her home. Authorities say she will not face charges. McKinley called 911 during the incident and asked the operator if she could shoot the men. "They said I couldn't shoot him until he was inside the house," said McKinley. "So I waited until he got in the door and then I shot him."

Naw, they won't charge her with anything. She probably received a pat on the back from the sheriff's deputies who responded
.
They act like they are doing her a favor. I doubt she got the pat on the back from the arriving officers. I wouldn't be suprised if she was challenged, dsarmed, handcuffed, and interrogated at the police station for several hours after the shooting. Trust me, there are some jurisdictions that would consider charging her, although given the circumstances - woman, child, alone, and most importantly, a national news event, any DA that try's to do that would probably be run out of town tarred and feathered.
I just saw coverage of this on the NBC Nightly News recorded from last night. Oklahoma is a Castle Doctrine state so she was entirely justified in shooting the intruder. The local law enforcement officers confirmed that.
Yes that was established in the OP's post, and at least 2 or 3 posts after that. The other surviving bad guy is actually facing murder charges, to put the responsibility of his partner in crime's death on his shoulders...as it should be.
l Do not know the American justice system, but as a rule, in all cases of human death there is a supervision made by the authorities on the sequence of events, cause and effect beyond the capacity of the common man to distinguish the reality from the perceived.
killing a human being is not so easy, in the consciousness of a person could sneak up dark shadows, unfortunately, violence begets violence, even if the defense of themselves or their loved ones is a sacred right
my best whishes to that woman, at last of the story, she is a victim
