Condolences for all involved.

That's a dangerous bidness, what with the volume of materials.

There is already a thread in the "current events" forum where, of course, some are trying to incorrectly turn it into a gun rights topic:
http://www.city-data.com/forum/curre...-firearms.html

I find it more comparable to engaging in an "adventure sport". You pay the money and take your chances, just for an opportunity to take a picture and then buy the Tshirt. A child, and most adults, should not be handling fully automatic weapons without obviously proper supervision. There seems to have been a problem in the supervision part.

This was a problem in the parenting part. What sort of idiot let's a child fire a machine gun?

I realize this is not a gun problem but how many baseball coaches were killed this week teaching kids how to swing a bat.

Part of the problem in the gun community is that many feel that as long as the 2nd amendment is in force then that is the only requirement for gun ownership/handling.

Keep guns out of the hands of stupid people even if they are instructors and or former military.

This was a Forrest Gump moment, "stupid is as stupid does".

And what standard do we use to determine "stupid"?

How do you figure? Do you really think that was the only child that has ever fired a weapon like that, at that range?

Do you really think that instructor was stupid?

Do you know how many other children he let shoot, that weapon, or others...

It was a bad mistake, with severe consequence....

To say they are stupid....is stupid...
