Let me see if I have this right? We can arm AlQuaida backed muslim extremist rebels in Syria (who will institute sharia law and abuse women) with automatic weapons. But American's can no longer buy an M1 used to defend America?

I despise Obama but he's not the only one who did this. RINO George H. Bush who voted for the Gun Control Act as a Congressman issued an executive order banning imports of rifles that looked evil as well as presiding over savagery, both physical and legalistic, of BATF. Clinton banned everything from China. George W. Bush didn't rescind any of these.

Ronald Reagan is dead so as far as I'm concerned the only decent presidential hopeful is Rand Paul.

If these guns had been available in the Third Reich anyone including Jews could have bought them. Note: although Hitler prohibited Jews from engaging in the arms trade he never deprived them of the right to own guns. I hope some of you will think about this.

An interesting fact: when Hitler was a bit of a revolutionary before he came to power his carry gun was a S&W, a war trophy from his time in World War I.

Is this a new batch of Korean era rifles or the same shipment Obama denied 4-5 years ago?

Personally I have not seen these for several years. So it may not mean much. I bought a Winchester years ago M1 Garand and M1 Carbine. Sold both and bought one M1 Springfield with DCM papers. Its in very good condition and no import mark. I gave up the Carbine because it was too expensive for ammo and I did not shoot it anyway. I kept the Garand and the 03A3 Remington.

Sadly, I can have not one iota of hope that we the people can have ANY effect on such nutball-POTUS ego-driven exec. orders. The only way we have to change things is to mount a monumental PR and media campaign prior to the next election, but that is prohibitively expensive when run against the primarily lib-run media.

Thus, it seems the only likely event yet to come will be an armed revolt by those honest patriots who place liberty and justice above the oncoming socialist thrust. Of course, O'POTUS will tell the public hat we are all revolting fundamentalist, and will promise to the urban GEP* types whatever buys their loyalty.

(As in: whatever free stuff [food, housing, clothes, free TV internet and cell phones, and so on...] they want, without having to actually work for it.)

In essence, our future freedoms and that of our Republic will be in our own hands, guys! But btw, it's also critical that you arouse such interest and conviction within your (quite possibly uninterested.. ) family, esp. teenagers, whose main interests are that their consumerist world is never disrupted.

Costco, the mall, and so on. The latest boy bands, or hot chicks or iPod musical streams... blah blah blah. You know, the world we created for them, slashing our way through life with plastic! But such credit is no longer widely available as we all know.!

As well, Keep your ammo supply up and make sure you continue to practice in typical tactical methods.

I hope it all works out. As for my practice efforts, with my SA M1A NtMatch, I can reliably now hit a 4 - 6" group @ 500 meters (>>500 yds), first 5 rounds. My Galil, .223, is good for a 1.7" or so 10 shot group @ 100 m. And my Rem 870... at 15 - 20 yds? You don't want to be out there!

Take care!

I really hope to own a Garand one day, and by the looks of this, it will likely cost me much more. Obama is as anti-gun as they come. He can't be gone fast enough.

I thought the original EO was from Clinton, Bush Jr. rescinded it (or it expired one of the two) in 2005, and this is just a re-application, hope those Garands are in Cosmoline. I may be wrong.

The rest about preventing "military grade" imports is just bluster, since it does nothing to prevent "military grade" domestic production (and most non-US manufacturers have US production facilities). Although I don't know what the difference is between a Bushmaster/RRA/Stag/Colt/M&P/Daniel Defense/etc. AR-15 and an M-16 other than select fire, they both use the same materials in the receiver, and barrel, and civilians have the option to buy better materials for both than the US Army or USMC, as we all know the lowest bidder often gets the contract (unless Halliburton is the non-bidder).

It's all just window dressing, BarryO can't really do anything without Congress and he seems to have bigger fish to fry at the moment.

Obama can only do so much holding his breath until he's blue in the face and stomping and crying over is @ss being handed to him by the NRA and supporters concerning his assault on the 2nd amendment.

This is just his way of being an upset four year old when they were told NO!!

Obama and his circus is the best bait and switch show EVER! While we are all concerned about bigger topics that the Obama administration doesn't want to face because it might make them look bad or worse actually make them make a decision and take a stand they come up with something like this feel good act that grabs headlines for his followers and makes them all happy but as WE all know does nothing about crime.

If he can't do anything or won't do anything about the real problem put a band aid on it. At least it will look better.
