Does anyone own a Uberti 1866 yellow boy lever action rifle that can
comment on ? This rifle will be for target shooting. I have read that the
loading gate needs to be modified so as not to break. Any thoughts on this.

I had a friend who bought the Yellow boy, I bought the Henry. I had the 44-40 his was 45 lc I think. We never had any problems with them. They were very well built, great guns. I sold mine as I did not use it and it was only for fun. I think he still has his. The price has went up a lot in the past years. I think I paid 550 for mine, but last I looked they were in the 1k plus range. I have never heard anything on them, do a youtube search and see if anyone has a complaint.
That is a really nice collection, Thanks for sharing.

I have done a search online & youtube also on lever-action rifle forums.
And there is one "issue" that I'm following to learn more.
With regards to the replica Uberti rifle. There are some who seem to have
experience , will state that the new Uberti Yellowboy's loading gate is weak.
And before firing it , should be reinforced to prevent from breaking.
They go on to say that the insides need to be burred or polished because
being new, it will jam. Others state that a new rifle should not require
this.
All agree in that the Uberti & also the new Henry's rifles are fine rifles.
But I wanted some input on this . Perhaps , my next stop will be with
gunsmiths & see what they have to say about this. Main reason I like
these rifles is the brass receiver. Also, I found out that not all the new
Henry rifles are made of brass. I believe it's called brass lite...not 100%
sure on the wording.
Thanks for the replies...
