I have .280 Remington model 700 Mountain rifle that I want to replace the stock on. Does anybody know anything about the Boyds tacticool stocks? Or should I just pop for a b&C medalist or something of that nature. The rifle has a detachable magazine too. Would one of these stocks work with this rifle of mine? Any info would help. THANKS !
If the rifle shoots well with the stock it has, realize that a "drop in" stock may or may not fit the metal as well, and it may not shoot as tight until/unless you do some bedding work. Any decent rifle-oriented gunsmith can do this (glass bedding) if you don't want to DIY.
I think I'm going to go with the bells and Carson Alaskan stock, they actually make a model with the notches in the stock for the detachable magazine and I definitely will have it bedded by a gunsmith thank you for the info guys!
