She was anti gun 6 years ago and agreed to take a basic handgun course and fell in love with shooting.

She takes more courses than I do, and I take a lot!

She found TWAW and became a co-leader and RSO. LOVES IT!

Yes. There is also a group called G.R.I.T.S. (Girls Really into Shooting). It's setting up new local groups across the country--East Coast, so far.

I didn't think I'd enjoy shooting either and started with a pistol for personal protection. I intended to only have it at home but I went on to get the concealed carry permit. I've considered taking the instructor course because as a 62 year old grandmother, I think young women beginners might feel less shy than with a man.

Now I love it -- particularly my shotgun. We shoot clays and I'm having a great time.

She sure knows she is not alone. TWAW has chapters in all 50 states. She is in touch with most of the chapter leaders on a private leader's page.

There are 2 other chapters within a 30 mile radius of us. They get together several times a year with other chapters

She also told be there are several other women's organizations in the area and our range offers special women's only classes.
