This is about the new Sig Sauer P365 - amazing, almost game changing, 9mm sub-compact that manages to cram 10 rounds into a single stack (or semi-single stack) magazine, into a weapon that is significantly smaller than Glocks or S&Ws comparable models, and yet holds more rounds. 13 round with an extended mag.
I am so tempted. I was really tired of carrying around my Springfield XD SC, an impressive high quality weapon but just a brick. So I retired that to my bedside weapon and recently purchased a Ruger EC9S, which is the replacement to the Ruger LC9S, to use as my main carry weapon. Also a high quality gun in an extremely economical and small package (fixed sights apparently enabled Ruger to drop the retail price by over $100). I like most of it - the trigger is excellent, it's been reliable at the range, the price point is excellent, adapting to a single stack from the double is no problem, and the few ounce and 10th of inch differences between the XD makes it much more comfortable to carry. What I don't like is the magazine disconnect safety, the takedown process, and I am still adapting to a gun with a manual safety after using the XD for years without a safety.
So the P365 is still tempting me. Anyone purchase this model yet? I've also heard about the recent sig quality issues and indeed I read about a quick tweak/recall to the P365 after initial release last month.
The P365 street price is about $600, the Ruger EC9S is about $240. It's going to be hard to justify the extra few rounds for $360 more, I'm going back and forth on the decision particularly since I already purchased the Ruger.

Yeah I have heard complaints about the quality control issues, mostly from other gun websights. Although of course they are a biased bunch and tend to complain.
Amongst the complaints was that the P320 had a recall that Sig called an "upgrade", apparently an issue with the drop safety features. For the P365 also they had an initial issue with the slide peening the action, and lots of complaints about the slide not locking back after empty. They stopped shipment for a few weeks, tweaked the ones one the factory floor, and resumed shipment.
I am not a Sig expert but the scuttlebutt seems to be that quality declined when the moved production from Germany to the US, and the new CEO was replaced with someone from HiPoint I think who was more focused on expense control vs. quality control.
I really want this P365 to succeed however. I think I will wait 6 months or so to see if any other bugs are revealed.

What are we able to conclude based on that?
