I don't care if a retailer carries an AR rifle or not but when they actively lobby for gun bans I do have a problem with them and won't give them my business. Given the lack of sporting goods retailers locally to me Dick's got a lot of business from me prior to this. Hunting ammo, clothing, fishing gear, an occasional camping item. I'm not doing any shopping there anymore. I never did buy a gun there but I bought plenty of other things in the past.
I don't own one, nor care to, but I will only say that if we do not hang together then we shall certainly hang separately.
The gun magazine ban bill in Vermont originally as written before there was enough outcry its author amended it, would have banned lever rifles chambered in pistol cartridges like the 73 Winchester or modern Henry rifles as well as any pump action shotgun holding more than 6 rounds. The people who think their hunting firearms won't be targeted are absolutely wrong.

I don’t see the rub like that. A merchant can choose to cater to whatever crowd they want to. No one gets their lederhosen in a wad if a merchant decides to not sell cigarettes, or if a merchant opts to cater to a specific crowd like hikers or runners.
Furthermore where’s all the outrage at Walmart? They stopped selling AR-15’s years ago and also adopted a ‘no guns or ammo sales under 21 policy’.

Please, no politics. There's a whole bunch of threads in the P&OC forum discussing arms control and related issues. This is a "Hobbies and Recreation" forum.
