I got this DPMS LR 308 about 15 years ago. Taken several deer a couple bears and one moose with it. Just recently put a new QD on it for the Dead Air Sandman.

It is a ERGO grip. I got it on a used rifle I bought and found I liked it so I put it on this one.

Nice rifle, but not for me. I'll stay with my Remington .30-06. I didn't like the M-14 when it was issued to me, and I didn't like the M-16, either. I like a rifle that has enough heft to absorb some of the recoil.
This has the worst of both rifles; the caliber of the M-14 (.308, BLEH!) and the look of the M-16/AR-15 (BLEH, again).
But then, it isn't like the M-14 or the M-16. Nobody is forcing me to carry it around (actually, in 'Nam, I scrounged an M-1 Carbine to pack around).
But, hey, it isn't mine, it is yours. You obviously enjoy it. Nothing else matters.

Well, to each their own.

Me, I love my -10 and as a disciple of the 40X and -14, both of using something of a "palm rest" to shoot, the -10 is a modernized approach to that rifle.

The down side is that it is expensive to operate.

To me, firing my -10 with that WHOMP!................it's better than sex!

The buffer and spring absord the recoil. It doesn’t need the “heft” of a wooden stock. I love me my .30-06’s, but my AR-10 is much better for deer hunting. Honestly, it probably weighs close to the same as either of my -‘06’s.
