I have dark reddish brown hair with slight red streaks in it(it's my natural color). I want it just a shade darker. I was going to get it dyed at the hair salon, but feel like I can do it myself since I'm really just looking for a "rinse" (semi-permanent) and only want the hair to be a shade darker.
This is the issue. Since my hair is already dark brown, if I put any type of "black" hair dye in it(even a soft black color) the hair will turn jet black. I don't want my hair jet black. I simply want my hair a shade darker than what it currently is, which would be the equivalent of a light black or black brown color. So that being said what color hair dye would I use, and what brands are easy to apply and non-damaging.
I recently used 'Dark Brown' #40 by Garnier Nutrisse. It worked out fine I would suggest trying it! I doubt it would go black on you- if anything, wash it about 3 times if the outcome is too dark and it will definitely fade a bit.
If you insist on coloring at home, I would at least go to a Sally's Beauty Supply if you have one near you. They have many more semi and demi permanent colors that would better match what you're searching for, not to mention they're gentler on your hair.
Hair dye are mostly used for colouring hair white to black old days but today dye or colour are used for most used for fashion.so many company are makes dyes many colours & shade but used these product is not safe for all some times side effect are seem really bad so used the product with some caused or safety.....
Every time I've gotten highlights and got tired of them I will dye my hair back myself. I've had the best luck with Herbal Essence and Garnier hair dyes. The foams don't work very well in my opinion. I'll dye my moms hair every 6 weeks with boxed hair dye and we've never had any problems.
