I asked this question on Y!A, but then I rememebered I'm a City Data member and there will probably be more answeres here than there. Anyways....
Okay, I need all the deets.
I'm thinking about getting clip on extensions:
What do I need to know?
What are the best kinds?
If you use any, what kind do you use?
Do Clip ins reall break your hair?
I spent all day on youtube watching videos how to put them in, so I'm ok in that department.
My real hair is at the end of my neck. I just want something shoulder length.
Oh, and pricing is not really a problem.
1- google up pages/msgboards on extensions. There are tons of them.
2- I really don't know brands and just assembled DIY style. I always preferred to buy in person so I could see the way the hair fell and looked. Human hair is best but its more expensive. I think they look best too if you make them just a little too long and cut them to blend naturally into your existing hair.
3- I dont use any currently. I would get the metal clip parts and hair from a local place or sally's. Its really best to go in person so you can match your hair texture to what you are buying.
4 - Using clips can break you hair just like doing anything else can. (barrettes, headbands, etc)
I was told once that when matching for color go out into the sun with a mirror. Sunlight has the fullest spectrum light and you will better notice any strange highlight clashes.
