I usually get my hair done at higher end places. I just moved to a different part of the state and today I went to a new hairstylist. I'm used to paying about 150.00 (tip included) for cut/color/highlights. Today the new place charged me 215.00 for everything and I gave a 35.00 tip to round it up to 250.00. Even though I liked the place and the stylist that did my hair, I don't want to pay that every 8 weeks. I've had just as good work done on my hair for lesser money so I'll continue to shop around.

I know all these services will be higher or lower depending on what part of the country you live in, but still curious how much you pay for haircuts, colors and highlights. I envy those woman that can go to a chain place and pay 10.00 for a cut and go...so jealous. lol

I pay $90 including tip. I think I'll stay where I live.

I have paid that much, but it was usually for a three color process. Not for regular color or just a partial highlight. I think it's a bit too much if it's not something special that you can't get elsewhere.

I've paid under $100 for a cut and partial highlight. I cash in gift cards from reward points for my credit cards, but tip on the full amount.

were my fiance works it'd be 550 just for the color, then at least another 150 for the cut depending on who you went to. So in my view it's not that bad if it was an upscale salon! ^^

If you are talking about doing a base color and a highlight then 215.00 with a haircut is what my salon charged. (It went higher for longer or thicker) We were not super upscale, but I would say a casual nice salon with very experienced stylists. But this was also in Rockland County NY.

Depending on the length and how thick your hair is a cut, color, and highlight would start around $50 and go up from there.

In my salon, for my type hair (average thickness, and down to the small of my back at my waist) for that process would be around $120 or so before tip.

I was paying about $250 for full highlights (no color) and a cut a few years back. And even when I stopped having them cut my hair (since they would always want to chop it off) I would still pay almost as much.

Then I started to go to a place where she only charged me $90 for full head highlights (no cut) but the highlights only lasted a couple months so in reality I was paying more over time.

I am now contemplating doing my own hair (since I cut it myself anyway). However I really like more dimension in my hair and don't feel I will be able to accomplish that with "at home" products. But it's getting harder to justify these high prices for just hair. Plus I can't stand sitting in a salon for 3-4 hours (that's how long it takes them to do a full head highlight on me)!

I really envy my husband who just shaves and goes!!

Just yesterday I paid $115.00 for partial highlights and a cut.

I had to go to a new salon as my regular hairstylist of 12 years went out of business. When I got my hair highlighted and cut with my old stylist it was about $160.00 and she gave my hair color more depth and interest.
