Hair Straighteners.... Best brand??
Ladies....
I'm in the market for a new hair straightener, my hair stylist uses a Chi which is very expensive but DOES do a great job.
I have very thick but fine hair, that iron gets it really straight but I'm hesitant to spend that kind of money on an appliance.
Any one have any good suggestions?
Thanks!

Spend the money, it is worth it and you will be pleased that you did. I messed around with cheap straighteners for years and finally caved and bought a good one. Not only do they work faster, but I have fewer split ends and my hair looks shiner. Just be sure to use a good heat protector. I've got the pink Solia. I bought mine from here: Best Flat Irons, Best Hair Straightener.

It's definitely worth it to spend the money on a good flat iron, I have a Sedu. Check out Folica.com, tons of products and reviews.

I agree with the posts above. Folica.com is a great site. Solia, Sedu, FHI, and CHI are great flat irons.

I also got a pink Solia from Folica.com. Dont get a Chi, get either Solia, Sedu, or FHI. It's expensive but worth it.

Methinks a Sedu with tourmaline would be a good idea. As stated above several times, Folica has great flat irons.

Get some GHDs. I have curly hair and they straighten it in less than 10 mins! They make your hair v shiny too! They are definitely worth the $180 dollars (approx), mine have lasted for years. If you're going to straighten your hair often invest in a good pair, means you'll have lots of time in the long run!

The GHD IV is the best on the market. After that, Chi, and maybe a Sedu.

I've purchase a lot of flat irons over the years looking for the best one at a reasonable price. I, like you, didn't want to spend big bucks on a hair straightener because I just didn't think it would be worth the money. Then one day I was reading CD and everyone was giving the Chi rave reviews - which got my attention. I had just had a major birthday and the DH and kids just blew it, so I decided to buy myself a present. I broke down and spent one hundred dollars on a Chi. I have to tell you I use it every day and it is definitely worth the money. There is no comparison between it and my cheaper ceramic flat irons.
After using the Chi for a week my DH commented that my hair had really looked good lately and he never notices anything! My dear daughter also noticed a change and asked what was up and I told her. She knew the cost of the Chi and was shocked that I had bought one, but admitted it was worth it. I never thought I'd say this, but the Chi is definitely worth the money. I can straighten my long, curly hair in less than ten minutes initially and simply touch it up, less than two minutes, daily and have it look great. Best wishes!

I have REALLY curly hair and the process of drying my hair and then straightening it with a straightener is a royal pain and takes WAY too long... I have a straightener that dries as it straightens- I think it was Wet to Dry or Wet to Set... something like that... got it at Target for about $25 and I highly suggest picking one up... It has cut my straightening time from 1 and a half hours to 40 minutes... just towel dry, brush through with a comb and product... then straighten sections about 1-2 inches at a time... love it.- Remington Wet 2 Straight
