We are moving from Va Beach to Charlotte NC and would love to host a going away party for about 30-40 of our friends in early October. Does anyone have a good idea of where we can do this that is central to Va Beach? We are looking to spend $700-800 and would like to have it on a Saturday from 5-8pm.

I don't want to rent a hall or banquet place. I am more interested in a local bar/restaurant that has a room or area for parties. We don't want a fancy place - just comfortable with good food and friendly atmosphere. We would like to do a buffet and possible offer some alcohol (but, that depends on price).

Thanks

You may want to try Beach Bully. I don't think they have a buffet but they do catering portions and have some outdoor seating.

Watermans down at the ocean front would be my recommendation. They are fairly priced and the food is great.
