My Bf absolutely LOVES maple syrup. He puts pancakes on his syrup. So I thought I would get him some of the true good stuff, as part of his Christmas present (he'd never spend the money!). The prices at the grocery stores are ridiculous for the quantities...I know I could do far better online...but I thought I ask if anyone has a good local source?

We bought some while up in New England in May. I have two in my house that do the same with the syrup. Have you thought about buying online?

Walmart is pretty reasonable I think for their Great Value store brand. Real Maple syrup is all that I'll use. Costco and Sams club sell larger bottles of the New England sourced syrup for about 15 bucks (or less). When you include shipping for online purchases I feel that that price is about equal although I've never researched buying it online.

As a northerner, this is relevant to my interests, as they say. I'd give the local stores another shot. At Farm Fresh you can find some in little greyish brown jugs. Not necessarily in the "syrup section" but more around where you might find specialty items. BTW, your boyfriend is a lucky guy.
