We will be moving to VB this summer from Canada. I have a 2 year diploma in Human Resource Management, along with a payroll supervisor certificate from the Canadian Payroll Association and am 4 courses from completing a Human Resource and Labour Relation degree by distance.

I think though, that I will need to take an additional certificate in VA to become familiar with the US way of HR Management and/or payroll. Can anyone recommend a good college that offers an HR Certificate or payroll certification in VB and will a certificate (on top of Canadian education) be sufficient in obtaining a position in an HR admin, generalist or a payroll position?

Thanks!

A good friend of mine who is a Human Resource Mgr. took her courses at Weslyan College. Also, if you look into www.sentara.com they have many positions in your field that you may be interested in.

Thank you! I have emailed Old Dominion College regarding their Essentials of HR Certificate, to see if that would be of use. I will check out the college you mention and the link
