Hello all,
So I've lived in Virginia Beach for about 15 years now. I just got new job on Langley Air Force Base and this commute is killing me! Lately I've been toying with the idea of maybe relocating to the Peninsula. I have a daughter that's in 1st grade and I know very little about Hampton Public School System. How does it compare to VBPS? What are some good Elementary schools in Hampton, or can someone point me in the direction to a site? Like I said, right now I'm just toying with the idea. I'm more worried about my kids education. Thanks in advance!

Hampton Schools are a major step down from Virginia Beach. If you have the budget, York County is a much better option if you need public schools.

My child attends high school in Newport News. We know folks whose kids attend Hampton. The impression I have had is that Hampton schools are worse than Newport News.

Listen to The Dissenter. If you move over this way, live in York County or even Poquoson. Avoid Hampton AND Newport News.
Good luck!

Personally I think YCPS is the best public school system in Hampton Roads.
