I am a big fan of exploring abandoned buildings. The problem is, I can't get anyone to go with me, they are too chicken sh*t and I am too chicken sh*t to go alone. Are there any urban explorers here in the VA area? What has been your experience? Has anyone called the police on you for being around or in an abandoned house or business?

That's probably not a popular activity here. Got to go to bigger cities for that. Around here property owners will think your up to no good.

The most "urban" area in the region is Downtown Norfolk. Norfolk experienced a growth boom just after WWII. In the 1940s and 50s Norfolk was considered to have the worst slums in the entire United States. In the 1960s and 70s, Norfolk embarked upon a disastrous urban renewal campaign in which most of the older structures in downtown were completely razed. Many of the typical abandoned buildings that you would see in a rustbelt city simply just aren't there anymore in Norfolk. You will see abandoned homes every now and then in Norfolk but nothing like a Baltimore where it is possible to see entire abandoned neighborhoods.

Aye guy what's up. Idk where you live but i live in NN. The most dope Urban Ex site in HR is probably down the street from my home. Its an old abandoned NIKE missile base, abandoned since 1974. It's way too cool! I just recently found out of it a few years ago and i have been here since the womb haha. Its very easy to get too as well but I know how you feel, Urban Explores can be very stingy with there locations allot(for good reasons they don't want to see these places messed up) But anyway this place is covered head to toe in vandalism and its on its last legs so why not haha, just promise us you won't be a douche and destroy it more.

It's located in the woods by Newport News/Williamsburg international airport. You have to park in the trailer park, I know someone who lives there so I don't worry but don't be upset if your car gets towed haha.
That's all I'll give you for the sense of exploration lmfao but I'll supply some photos

I'm from Jacksonville so I know about crime and drugs in the hood or ghetto. But my daughter is moving to Norfolk and I want to be near her but can't afford the prices for rent that I see online. Do anyone know about the urban areas or surrounding areas that's not so expensive. I'm on a fixed income and looking for a two bedroom room but will settle for one if its large enough. Can anyone help me out. Just need a list of areas that are about 500-600 dollars a month. no room mates or subleasing plz? Thank in advance

Kurtia74 you inadvertently posted this on an existing thread about exploring abandoned buildings, so you probably need to create a new thread to get some responses! (Not from Norfolk so I can’t help but someone will!)

Watchful is correct you need to start your own thread.

That being said what you are looking for does not exist here.
