Hi all,

I was originally coming to town to run the Shamrock race in Virginia Beach and like everything else it got cancelled. It may seem that I still have my flights and airbnb and wondering if its still worth exploring the area, of course keeping my distance from crowds. What are my options with the current status quo? have many things shuttered?

I am guessing State Parks are still open and I can go explore nature. I imagine weather is still going to be pleasant in 1 week's time. I am guessing most restaurants are open so can still try out local cuisine. I don't know about the status of cultural things like museums or tours, would be interested in checking out Jamestown and all the first settlement stuff.

Please fill me in as its hard to know not being on the ground of the area.

The situation is really changing on a daily basis. As a parent, I know VB schools are closed for students on Monday so teachers can prepare for remote/distance teaching. Currently, stores and restaurants are mostly still open (there may be individual cases of small, non-chain places closing, but even that's not yet widespread). I know a local public library is closing. Norfolk rec centers are closed.

Personally, I would cancel. More things will be closing/canceling in the next week, as the US is on the incline of the curve currently.
