Im looking for those plastic mini NFL football helmets you find in gumball machines.

I had every helmet, but one recently was lost, and I was wondering if anyone has seen these around Virginia Beach or Norfolk very recently.

I know they used to be at a few Bottom Dollars, and the Walmart on Military up until very early this year, but the only place Ive seen them since is Roses on Military, and they are $1 each in that machine, which I refuse to pay. Also Ive seen college helmets in a couple Bottom Dollars, which Im not interested in.

So if anyone happens to see these while they are in a store some where for .50 or less each, please let me know.

Thanks.

Don't know if they have them or not, but party city has all kinds of little things like that. If they don't have them now I'd check at the start of football season.

Did you check EBAY or Craigs list? Might be easier than driving all over looking for them... just a thought in case you can't get a good location here.

I have never seen them for sale except in the gum ball type machines and I don't recall seeing any lately but I will check around for you...I do recall the Walmart at EPA and Lynnhaven had them at one time but the last time I noticed them was last football season and I don't remember the price..what team do you need? ...I would think someplace like Ebay would have them....have you checked some of the local sport collectible stores around town just to see if they have them

I probably could get one on ebay I imagine, but Im not prepaired to pay upwards of $10 for a .50 helmet. I also havent seen these things in any of the local sports stores.

The reason Im wondering if anyone has seen one of these lately is that, I could go there, check where the one Im missing is in the machine, make an educated guess when it might get down around the exit of the machine, and then go back then. I might end up having to get a couple extra helmets, but Im trying to keep the expense at getting this helmet under $2. Im really not one for spending money on things like this, but since I lost the one, I guess its the OCD in me, but its annoying me to see the gaping hole in my display.

I do thank everyone for their input on this so far.

No, they are like real football helmets, accept they are palm sized, and plastic (and of course have no padding inside the helmet).

These helmets have gone through several versions over the years. You used to just get a colored helmet with a sticker set and it had a plastic detachable face mask, making it look kind of like a modern day kickers helmet when complete. Then, they made helmets with the stickers, but with a fuller face mask, then over the past couple years, they moved to helmets that were painted, with detachable masks, and the last ones that came out, had the face masks attached and the logos painted. Theyre actually very nice.

At least one of these incarnations was available at one point in packages by division, but the large majority of these over the years are sold in gumball machines, and they are intensely popular, and always have been. A whole machine of these wont last more then a couple weeks (assuming the price is reasonable), as most machine fill will last for months.

The first ones were $.25 each, but they have been $.50 for years, and the last ones I saw at Walmart were $.50. There is a Rose's on Military that has them, but are trying to get $1 each, and they have been sitting there practically untouched for months, and Im not about to pay $1 for them either. So, what Im looking for is a local place that still has them for $.50.

Hmm, well I'll definitely keep my eyes open.
