If you do a search for property for sale in that zip code >3000 sq. ft in the price range of 350000 or less you get nothing.

23464 Real Estate Listings and 23464 Single Family Home for Sale - REALTOR.com®

There are only 3 with more than 2750 sq. ft. in that price range. Overall there are 200 homes for sale in that price range. So I think you are probably underestimating the value of your house.

That zip code is VA Beach so I am not too familiar with the neighborhood so can't comment on things like schools. But I know in the areas around Great Bridge, Grassfield, and Hickory, you need to spend about $350K to get a pretty good house in a family type neighborhood.

I guess to be fair, true value is different then what people are selling places for on realtor.com. Just cause people are asking $400k for a place doesn't mean anyone would pay that. I am seeing a lot of For Rent signs on places that were once for sale in pretty upscale neighborhoods.

Yea it's been my experience that non military/govt jobs are low paying in the area while real estate stays expensive.

Cityboi got a good thing going for him.
