I heard (form some one ) that I could make this real good drink out of fresh squeezed LILIKOI. not the passion fruit kind but real LILIKOI! Now I know that I could go and buy like tons of them lil buggers but I don't have the necessary equipment to do all that squeezing. So any ideas?

I thought passion fruit and lilikoi were the same thing???

There's a company on Kauai that makes lilikoi food products (syrup, jelly, mustard, etc) and I heard they get the juice from Mexico.

Aunty Lilikoi - Passion fruit products. (jellies, mustards, butter, syrups, dressing and teriyaki sauce)

Thanks for the link

That's the difference between lilikoi and passion fruit lilikoi is from Hawaii and passion fruit is from everywhere else. I would just like to buy Hawaiian if at all possible.

If you can squeeze them they are definitely different from passion fruits we have in Aus which are cut open and scooped out. I can't imagine squeezing those would get you much.

Hey Koa I would still try Laquins- or I will try for you see if they will sell... Resturaunts can get the Maui blend also but also know someone out of Kalapana will sell it by the gallon. You can also get them fruit and put them in blender on quick pulse with seeds and then strain them. Wonder where you heard that they would make good drinks! Hope your enjoying the sun!!

haha, yes.. they are a concentrated taste though, couldn't imagine drinking a whole glass of the pulp. Rather acidic.

No but they taste pretty good with fresh lime/lemon sweet and sour little tequila and (sp?) lila mough, the red powder -never knew how to spell that on rim!! Great with banana, pineapple, and mango in a smoothy to sweeten up! First time I was given one I scooped out and tried to eat like a pomigranent. Sour pucker!!! Didn't go near them for months.
