"Medicare, which covers roughly 60 million Americans, will provide free over-the-counter rapid coronavirus tests beginning in the spring, according to the federal government’s Medicare and Medicaid agency.

The policy would “allow Medicare beneficiaries to pick up tests at no cost at the point of sale and without needing to be reimbursed,” the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services said, adding that it would be the first time Medicare covered the whole cost of an over-the-counter test."

I ordered free tests on the first day but haven't gotten them yet. Not in any particular hurry anyway.
Must be a lot of work involved to get tests out to the many millions who requested them.

If you provided your email to USPS when you ordered the test, they will notify you when it's mailed. The email will come from auto-reply@usps.com with the message heading reading USPS® Expected Delivery by Saturday, January 29, 2022 (or whatever day its anticipated to be delivered) arriving by 5:00pm followed by tracking number). They are sending the shipments out in waves to better accommodate all the request and not overwhelm the sort center.

To add, I actually originally deleted that email thinking it was some duplicate auto generated notice from USPS for one of the many packages coming my way.

When I placed my order on January 18, I furnished my email address but I never got any followup email from the CDC. I did get an email notice from the USPS the same day that I placed my order, thanking me for placing the order on USPS.com and saying that, once my package shipped, I'd receive a tracking number and updates on the expected delivery date. However, I never received any notice after the initial order confirmation email.
