If you are covered during the time when you contact the illness then see a lawyer because they are responsible for paying those bills. Be sure and read the poicy terms so you know just what you are buying.

You missed the message in my original post. The insurance companies are using a loophole so as not to be responsible for the coverage. By claiming that you committed fraud when you signed up they have the right to rescind your policy as of the effective date! This is why the Congressional Committe is having these hearings because laws need to be changed to close up this loop hole.
I don't have my notes in front of me but I researched this issue over 3 hours - not legal advice - but from what I have seen it depends on the state you are in but it has to be out right fraud in many states - if you forgot an unrelated small thing that is unrelated to your current illness you will be fine - other states they may be able to cancel you - anyway - sorry my answer was not perfect but it can give you some leads by doing your own google search
Not really OT, but this is why schools need to quit insisting you run to a doctor for every little thing, assuming your insurance will cover it.
No insurance policy covers everything, and even if it did, you don't need to overuse the insurance to flag yourself.
I've had teachers insist I "check into my insurance benefits" and have my kids tested/treated for any little thing, everything from a cough to ADD.
I just ignore them, they can't force the issue, my kids are perfectly healthy, they get health care when indicated, not when a teacher wants to deflect her poor teaching.
This is hijacking the thread, don't intend to, just wish people would realize you don't just use insurance for the #ell of it, its a slippery slope!
