JERUSALEM — Israeli scientists have cultivated a cannabis plant that doesn't get people stoned in a development that may help those smoking marijuana for medical purposes, a newspaper said on Wednesday.
According to the Maariv daily, the new cannabis looks, smells and even tastes the same, but does not induce any of the feelings normally associated with smoking marijuana that are brought on by the substance THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol.
Why re-engineer a perfectly good plant. In its natural state, it does what it is suppose to do.
Cancer, and other illnesses, along with their drugs and therapies can be debilitating. Medical marijuana helps tremendously. And that "high" can be an important part of the medicine. For those who suffer severe pain or symptoms, even if it just dulls the pain a bit or make you not care for a few hours while you hang over the toilet puking, then it is a blessing.

or which makes a few hours seem like only a few minutes is a godsend!
We are really better off accepting what GOD put on this planet for us to use. As more states legalize it's use and possession it's benefits will come out as those that use already have found.
I'm guessing that you are referring to this statement by myrc60:
"or which makes a few hours seem like only a few minutes is a godsend".
If so, the answer is that it makes the time go faster when you are feeling sick. For instance, I take a targeted chemotherapy pill everyday at lunch. Within an hour I begin to feel sick. This lasts anywhere from an hour to 5 hours. If I use medical marijuana, it eases the symptoms from the medication and makes the time pass quicker. The sooner I get through these hours daily, the happier I am.
I take this pill everyday for the rest of my life, or until a cure is found. So to be able get some relief from daily sickness is wonderful.
I was referring to growing pot without the high.....why? I see nothing wrong with anything that gives you a buzz that's not dangerous to you! A drink or two gives me a buzz....it's legal and fine! If you have a bunch of stoned people, there would never be a 'bar fight"....they're too laid back!

That's what I thought.
I don't get how a bunch of people that have never ever been high can act like they know how it affects someone. There are lots of people that are making a good living, being good productive citizens in this country and all over the world for that matter, that get high on pot. And for those that use it medicinally, I'd say they deserve some relief as I see first-hand how it can help them.
I got news for you...if you go back in your genealogy far enough you will find you have ancestors that used it. It wasn't always illegal! And the only reason it is illegal now is because of some big corporation who I will not name.
