I am so glad i found this forum. I just came back from Europe and have been really sick. I went to the doctors today and she prescribed me antibiotics (zithromax), flu medication (actimin), and a cough syrup for my chesty cough (uphadyl forte expectorant). I took the meds and an hr later i got a really sharp pain in my stomach that some of you experienced too. It was awful, wasn't able to move and felt i was going to die. I called the doc back and she said to stop taking the antibiotics. I ended up sleeping it off. After i woke i had a bit of food and took just the flu and cough med. After that i started gettin a less severe pain in the stomach when eating or drinking any liquid. After reading this thread i had 2 bottles of yakult (cultured milk drink) and i felt instantly better! I think i may not have eaten enough when i took these meds as i do not have much of an appetite. But i will go back to the doc tomorrow nonetheless and see if she can prescribe something a bit less strong
