Thanks...as I get older I am slippin...
It isn't scary yet...but I look at the stove before I leave my house,
and make lists.
If I get interrupted in conversation, that's it for me...I can forget my point.
I don't care, I don't get frustrated in the least...I flow with it...but I better
"do something" at this point.
THANK you for any real help...tried and true would be good.
Making USE of your brain is the best way to maintain memory. Mnemonics of all kinds are useful, some people find success better with one type than another.
Writing things on your hand with a ball point pen is pretty effective.
They say crossword puzzles are very good, to challenge your mind on a daily basis to search your memory bank systematically.
Different people learn things in different ways, so there would naturally be different approaches to memory-improvement strategies. I, for example, cannot learn even two lines of song lyrics or poems, but I can fairly quickly memorize a list of 50 things, if they are in alphabetical order. So I would need to use a completely different aid to improving or retaining memory, than a person who can memorize songs or poems easily.
Have your B-12 levels tested. You could get lucky
and it could be a simple fix.
Thank you, Molli.
That actually reminded me...dah....I was in Walgreens once..a 75 yr old skinny lady was buying
up all the B6's on sale.
I asked, "What do you know that I don't?"
She tells me of her 93 yr old mother that couldn't remember a thing.
Gives her B6 and "Voilá!"...she is now 'normal'....she went on very enthusiastically.
I will take my B complex right now and everyday....I always say,
"They don't call it a complex for nuttin'".
