No sure if right forum but anyone ever speak to a doc re: this? I have had stress tests/ekg's, etc. & all were fine over past few yrs -- yet when anxious can't help worrying of cardiac damage from chemicals released during anxiety times.

Can anyone relate or give ideas if they've dealt w/ it? One cardio doc yrs ago told me that since my total chol. is v. low, that I don't have enough to make plaque & damage arteries. But I still think w/ any surge-like BP spikes (not sure they occur but assume so w/ anxiety/panic attacks) that some residual is being done to stress integrity of endothelial lining of artery walls.

Am I just crazy? Thx. Sorry it sounds nuts but it is all too real.

Had anxiety-related premature atrial contractions resulting in irregular and extra heart beats. Drove me crazy. Docs insisted nothing was wrong organically. I believed them intellectually, yet still let it drive me crazy.

That was 20 yrs. ago. They lasted about a year and vanished. Today, still no evidence of organic cardiac disease. In fact I walk up and down hills every day, weather permitting, 30 min. a day.

I know a psychologist for sure would help. But it is only counselors that are connected to my doc's office & insurance, that I could get CBT from. I guess I ought ask re: that but have tried to manage it w/ diet/exercise/better sleep habits, etc. I use Valerian as needed & got some of the SAM-E, which according to my doc is as good as antidepressants like SSRI's. He says that SAME-E in Germany, I think, has proved more useful to avert anxiety-depression than even the St Johns Wort studies. So it is worth try. Thx.

If anxiety and worry alone caused heart trouble, my MIL would not be coming up on 80 and healthy as a horse (in her body...for 80, of course....her mind is definitely not healthy.)
