Good afternoon everyone,
I am writing b/c in the mornings I have been having red/brown/pinkish (all of these I know) spotting over the course of two weeks. In the week before Thanksgiving, I had spotting for about 3 days. Then I had it yesterday and now this morning again. It goes away but there's always some hint of it. If I had to say I've been documenting for about 3-6 days...it sometimes comes w/ brief cramping like the end of my period but it's never enough blood to fill up a whole pad/tampon.

Now keep in mind this has NEVER happened to me in my cycle (I'm 29) and have never had spotting in between periods. For the most part, my periods come monthly with the exception of last month. I missed a period the month of October due to major stress (we recently purchased a house and have been renovating it, etc.) & I got my period from Nov 1-5. Yesterday, I took a negative pregnancy test (I figured it was negative anyways but just to be sure).

I admit I sometimes like to self diagnose myself (LOL! not really) and made an apptmt to my ObGyn for Monday but my cousin who is an RN said it doesn't sound like much to be worried about, she said it's simply my cycle resetting itself and that the Dr would run a pelvic ultrasound anyways. I'm hoping it's not PCOS but I looked at all the symptoms and it doesn't seem to equate to that (based on my knowledge of my periods)

Any thoughts?

You're stressed. Very stressed, to have missed a period because of it. I think you'll be fine gynecologically.

The term "implantation bleeding" refers to being pregnant though, doesn't it? The egg has "implanted" into the wall of the uterus and causes a little bleeding. Doesn't seem to apply here.

I know, the home EPT was negative. My obgyn is doing an endometrial biopsy though to figure out why I'm bleeding outside of my cycle....

Spotting at ovulation is not uncommon, especially if you missed a period.

It's funny that you mention that b/c I haven't seen blood since Tuesday still awaiting results though from endometrial biopsy...

Usually they'll do the biopsy if ultrasound looked like the uterine lining was abnormally thick.

I had an endometrial biopsy come back with abnormal results. I had to take Provera for several months and that cleared it up. I had to have a couple more biopsies and then a d&c to make sure the hyperplasia was gone.
