I think to a certain extent, SOME people can do great eating a high-carb diet that is very low in fat. Yes, reducing fat intake may help some deal better with glucose. But I doubt this way of eating will help everyone with blood-sugar problems. At the time, I am eating very close to what is a
ketogenic-diet....but I have seriously considered switching-over to a high-carb/low-fat diet to see how it goes, I have an open mind.
Fat-induced insulin-resistance is not always bad, it can be a glucose-sparing mechanism. Cats are
naturally insulin-resistant.....couple that with the fatty diet they eat, they have a great capacity to sparingly use the glucose in their bodies.
Now if you eat a high-fat diet that has significant carbs also, I would say that can and many times does cause problems. I eat so much fat now and am very lean.....if I was to add-in significant carbs, LOL, I would be a blimp.
That link is pretty good about the pros- and cons- of the show.
I've watched a lot of health documentaries on Netflix and such. I've pro meat and pro veggie. A lot I end up not finishing if I feel it is very biased and I think this was one of them (and I eat more like a vegetarian than anything).
One "trend" I've noticed on these shows is they take someone who eat horribly (pizza, doritos, soda, hot pockets) put them on X diet than oh and ah over the miracle of their health improving with the diet du jour. You could put these people on almost ANY whole food diet and their health would improve.

tbh, it sounds like vegan propaganda. And anyone who has ever used a blood glucose meter, can tell you, carbs most definitely raise blood sugars, & meat does not. Of course we are all free to eat whichever way we choose, & many of us will have varying ideas on what is healthy.
Yes, in fact I've read that many diabetics substitute fat in their diets for sugar to satisfy their appetites w/o raising the bg.
We have come a long way since the early days of marketing food. I remember trying to do my first serious weightloss back in the late 80's. NOBODY at that time put nutrition information on labels. It was all hit-and-miss trying to figure out the details.
Now, we are overwhelmed with information. We still have to educate ourselves, especially if related to a physical illness.
We all must figure out where we are personally in this. Nothing is cross the board, and applies to everyone.
My current situation is figuring out how to eat, now that I am officially dx'd Diabetes 2. What I thought I knew, previously, no longer applies. Which is all fine and good. But it still involves educating myself as well a a huge learning curve.
What I put in my mouth and how it affects my blood glucose.
So, I do watch these kinds of programs. But all with the proverbial grain of salt. Not any one thing applies to everyone.
You can go to their official website and see that their claims are fairly well-sourced.
Even somewhat recently, I saw a program on FOX news where a expert provided some suggestions on living a longer life. The top one they mentioned was eating a primarily plant-based diet and limiting meat/poultry/fish/eggs/etc. in moderation.
im living proof meat is very healthy I eat 3-5 steaks per week 85% meat diet very little veggies.... dont like them
im over 50 can still bench over 300lbs rarely get sick.....not even a cold last year...havent called out sick from work in a decade...

What the health is truly propaganda BS in my opinion.
I wouldn't go this extreme either. From a nutrient standpoint we do need vegetables for vitamins and minerals which we cannot get from animals. We need both. Whether you like them or not is besides the point. Too much meat does come with it's problems. Excess uric acid and kidney problems for example. Vegetables would help to detoxify in this case.
It's not just about cholesterol and lipids.
Sugars and refined carbs are indeed a big problem. Complex carbs do serve their purpose and are not all bad. Sat fats are not bad.
Bottom line, excess ANYTHING is bad.
