The protection from the vaccine usually diminishes after 6 months. A longer than usual flu season is not great news. Good news is that any residual protection will help to make the illness less severe, depending on the effectiveness of the match for circulating virus strains that season.
Don't know that many people but don't know anyone who had the flu.
I know a lot of people but I do know my close circle of friends/family all take antioxidants and we count on this for our protection. I guess I could post a lot of links on antioxidants and flu prevention but I will not.
Supplements will not stop the flu virus. You can be a top physical condition and still succumb to the flu. If you have never gotten it then consider yourself lucky.
My neighbor was diagnosed with the flu last week, this is the 1st year she had to get the flu shot (always refused) or else she would have been fired.
What I found weird is that the next day she spent hours gardening. So if she had the flu and even had a chest xray to prove it, then the next day was well enough to be out in the sun, 80 degrees here in FL, knees in the dirt, hauling rock and pebble around how the heck does she have THE FLU?
What was the diagnosis based on? Why wasn't she keeled over dead???

The flu shot can still offer some protection. I get one every year, and the times I've also gotten the flu (positive flu test a the dr's office), I was only a little under the weather for a day or two. It's very possible that she had the flu and it just didn't make her very sick.
