I personally believe that sleep is one of the best medicines out there.

A couple of times per month, I will sleep deeply for about 12 hours without waking up and always feel refreshed and like new, mentally, emotionally and physically. If I go without my long sleep for a while I really feel it. Anyone else able to do this?

I hope as I get older I don't lose my ability to do this.

Talent? Guess I don't consider exhaustion a "talent".

Haha. I don't have to be exhausted to sleep that long.

I can sleep like that. For a long sleep 16 hours is my average. A few times I've slept 20 hours straight. I have a long sleep about twice a month.

I'm 65. Almost 66 and have no trouble sleeping anywhere, anytime. I trained myself to sleep without a cover and without a pillow in case I ever have to sleep without them.

I certainly lost that ability as I aged....I consider a "good night" to be 7 hours of good sleep...although "hot flashes" interrupt that frequently.

I've never felt the need to sleep more than 9-10 hours, even as a teen!

Well for me I believe it's a great healer. And I never had issues until menopause and FM dx or both, don't know but both came at about the same time, and tough sleep. I worked long to find what works for me and at 81 soon I get a pretty good, not straight thru, 9+ hrs nightly..And since using HGH gel for over 7 months now, sleep is even deeper and dreamier...and my achy body needs the healing. Good deep sleep is a natural promoter of the Growth Hormone.

If I did that, I'd probably get bedsores and DVT.

I could probably sleep longer if I wore diapers to bed. It depends.

I'm really not unhappy that I get up a few times a night as if I didn't I believe I'd even be stiffer in the morning...

I haven't slept for ten days, because that would be too long. Mitch Hedberg
