Yikes, as I hibernate waiting to see if I have Covid, all of a sudden I got a blood blister inside my mouth (cheek). I did NOT bite it. I can feel it, and then I looked with mirror and it is large and ugly.

What could possibly have caused this? I know this sounds crazy, but I took Zinc, Vitamin D, and Vitamin C today. Then about 2 hours before I noticed the blister, I popped another Vitamin C in my mouth and decided to chew it instead of swallow with water.

Anyone have experience with blood blisters inside of the mouth? What causes them (aside from accidental biting)....Thanks...

Have you eaten any "rough" foods lately? Crackers, cookies, cheese puffs, etc??? I tend to chew on one side of my mouth when snacking....and sometimes, certain foods simply cause a blister like that. Rinse frequently with warm salt water.

I'm guessing that you DID bite it in your sleep.

I've had that happen twice on the same cheek. I don't know what caused it, but there were years between the two incidents and it's been at least 10 years since the last time.

I get them from time to time. They're harmless.

Agree. Picture someone who's waiting to see if they have contracted Covid-19. Probably pretty stressful. Jaw clenching during sleep, possibly biting their cheek. OP is the spot painful? I'd also bet you did bite it. Mouth injuries tend to heal quite quickly. If it doesn't resolve in a few days have a doc check it out.

Actually, it is getting smaller. It just came out of the blue, and YES, I am actually self quaranteening because good friends of ours who we had dinner with on January 4th were diagnosed the other day with Covid. I think I'm out of the clear now (hoping I didn't just jinx myself)....

I don't see how else you could have gotten a blood blister in your mouth besides biting down.

I'd avoid chewing vitamin C until you're healed, as it's very acid. I also suggesting taking normal doses of zinc and no more than ~4,000 IU of vitamin D. Too much zinc can lead to copper deficiency; megadoses of D may make you low on magnesium. (I saw the other thread.) I'd also avoid anything from the pet store or livestock aisle. Animal meds don't get the same quality control the human ones do.
