Absolutely true. The friend of a friend tripped and bumped her head while on blood thinners a few months ago. Like the OP, she felt "OK", and didn't go to the hospital. A day later she started experiencing some dizziness, etc., and called a friend, who called 911. She had internal bleeding in the brain, which put her into a coma two or three days later, and they took her off life support about a week after that (her friend had her POA, she had no kids). Maybe about eighty years old. I don't want to worry the OP, but if that's what it takes for them to at least call their Doc (who is going to tell them to go to the ER anyway), then maybe I do.
Simply put, it might be "nothing", but the consequences if it's not are so severe it's not worth the risk, let them do a CT scan or whatever on your pumpkin ASAP, this isn't the type of thing that "fixes itself".
And even if it turns out to be "nothing", put some padding under that shelf until you're off blood thinners.
Edit: I saw in a later post that the OP did seek medical help and it did turn out to be a non-critical event. Good for you, OP, and good luck with that padding, LOL.
