Has anyone heard of this or know anyone who has (or had) the crease?
It's supposed to be associated with heart and vascular issues
I have one on my right lobe
Seriously, this turned into a study and a potential diagnostic?
I have an extra crease on one elbow and one of my knuckles looks more wrinkled than the opposing one, and my hair is thicker on the right side of my head. This probably means I'm going to stroke out before age 62.
My PCP remarked on my creased ear lobes (both of them), telling me that there a possible indication of heart disease. Given my previous test results and my family history, pointing out my earlobe creases didn't really seem to add anything to my prognosis.
But I did develop a hypothesis that said creases might be caused by my sleep apnea, as I was a side-sleeper for years prior to getting my OSA diagnosis. All that side sleeping...pretty good chances that my earlobes folded over while I was asleep with the side of my face to the pillow. And obstructive sleep apnea untreated is said to contribute to heart disease.

Earlobe crease is strongly associated with CAD, but also with age, and age is even more strongly related to CAD than the crease, so the crease adds nothing to predictive value.
Moral -- worry about being old, not about your ears.

LOL, that's what I figured. So the crease on the earlobes is virtually analogous to wrinkles on other body parts. I've got those wrinkles, and oh by the way, I don't have CAD. The cardiologist told me I had the coronary arteries of a teenager. My cardiac electrical system, OTOH, has pretty much gone down the drain. Thank goodness for pacemakers.
I wear earrings most of the time which cover up those wrinkles.
.....The cardiologist told me I had the coronary arteries of a teenager......
Well, you better gives those arteries back to that teenager. You're getting them all crusty for the kid.
Good analogy about wrinkles.
