I'm a 23 y/o male, but my face looks young. Most people are shocked when I tell them how old I am. Most people think I'm 16, and 17 years old. Its difficult sometimes when people say I look young. I have no clue whats wrong since I don't have health insurance to go to the doctor. What could cause a person to look younger than their age? How could I get more confidence in my appearance, and not let people opinions bother me?

Ha, reminds me of what happened to me:

I had just turned 21 (1982) and at Dodger Stadium there is a Helmet Weekend promotion with plastic batting helmets to kids 14 and under. I had braces on and I was clean shaven and I looked really young. As I walked into the stadium the old lady passing out helmets sees me with my outstretched hand, expecting a helmet. She knew I wasn't 14 so she tried to trick me. She asked me "Are you 15?" expecting me to fall for it and say "Yes", but I knew better and replied "No, I'm 14" knowing the age rule. She grudgingly handed me a helmet. I walked straight over to the beer line and ordered four tall cold cylinders of pleasure. As I carried my beers back to my seat, I stopped by again and said "Thanks for the helmet, lady", without spilling a drop.

There's nothing wrong with having a young looking face.

When you get old, you'll look in the mirror and regret you ever wished to look older.

If you really want to look older and your job allows facial hair, grow a beard.

This is VERY common for your age. Why do you think people in their 20's are carded at bars so often? It is because they look a lot younger than they are. I looked very young for my age until I probably got well into my 30's. I certainly do not think there is anything wrong with you.

I'm 19 and I also have a boy face; everybody thinks that I'm 14. But it is'nt because of my face. I'm too small and my body is not developed like a 19 year old. It is when people see how mature I act and talk that they ask me for my age. Does anyone knows why this happens? I'm just worried that I'll have the same body from middle school

One day your face/body will catch up to your age.

I was like that growing up, so is my youngest son. He is 29 and looks 18.

People can be mean with their comments in the real world. This one woman was going on and on about my son and how young he looked---I finally said "how old are you?, around 50?" Knowing she was probably only around 40ish. She suddenly got quiet.

At 13 I passed for 19. Being 6'1" and 200 lbs. aided that misperception. At 17 I was being served in bars and liquor stores. In fact, guys who were 18-20 commissioned me to buy package goods for them, generously paying me for the favor.

Now at 71 I pass for mid-50s and if I had hair, would probably pass for even younger.
