Has anyone here tried Nitro 5 for GERD/Acid reflux? (health issues, physician, symptoms)

Someone suggested getting a script for Nitro 5 to help with esophageal spasms from GERD/acid reflux. Anyone try this?

I've not only never heard of it, but neither has Google. What is it? Maybe it has a different name that would be more recognizeable?

I believe that Nitro relieves symptoms of Angina such as chest pain. Some of the problems associated with Angina MAY mimic GERD. I do not believe that Nitro has been shown to relieve GERD in any way.

That would be nitroglycerin - sometimes called simply nitro (lower case, no number) - the OP is referring (I believe) to a product that is marketed as "Nitro 5."

I was assuming that the NITRO was what I should focus on.........but thanks for your help, so much appreciated!!!!!

I didn't want to make the assumption, for the exact reason you pointed out: that nitroglycerin is not used to treat GERD. Maybe there is some product called Nitro 5 that IS used to treat GERD. A google search returned nothing. That's why I asked the OP to clarify for us.

Some told me they were using Nitro 5 to treat their GERD. But this person also has multiple health issues so maybe they are mistaken. I will ask my physician when I see him.
