yesterday morning my 3 year old woke up and later in the day I noticed her eyelid was droopy as if she had a lazy eye. Her eye itself is not drifting, it looks completely normal. I am the only one who notices but I KNOW it is droopy. I MOMMY, I notice these things. She has the largest blue eyes with the longest eyelashes ever, but suddenly her left eye is more slanted and her eyelashes are not as evident. I have compared her to recent pictures when her eyes are identical, now there is an evident change. Her eye is not red, or irritated, nor does it itch.. I believe if it was bothering her she would surely tell me.. does anyone have any suggestions other than rushing her to a pediatrician??

If what you are saying is true, and maybe there is something serious, why suggesting to visit your pediatrician is out of the question?
It could be from nothing, to something serious, but the only one that can tell you is a pediatrician.
I was born with a lazy eye, it is in even my earliest pictures. I remember having patches when I was young and got my first pair of glasses when I was 3 or 4. That was almost 50 years ago when there wasn't much that could be done for it. When I was a teenager an OD tried to put a prism in the lens of that eye to force the eye to work harder to overcome the laziness, but it did not help. Take your child to the pediatrician and see what she recommends. If there are no options there seek out an OD for advice.
The medical term for a droopy eyelid is ptosis. Some kids are born with it "congenital ptosis" and there are many causes that aren't terribly worrisome, but a sudden onset of ptosis should definitely be evaluated by your pediatrician! Please get her seen as soon as possible - I don't want to worry you, but it could be a symptom of something scary like a brain tumor.

Hello,
I know this post is old, but I'm wondering what this turned out to be in your daughter's case.
My 3 year old woke up with a slight droopy eyelid this morning.
Your response will be greatly appreciated.
take her to a pediatric eye specialist. I had amblyopia as a child (lazy Eye) I had to wear a patch and Eye glasses with ines going across the lenses for awhile. Then it corrected itself. I am 40 now and just started wearing eye glasses again about 5 years ago. Not saying your child has lazy eye but I think it's better to take her to an eye doctor.
