Hi guys,
I have a 3 yr old daughter. Do you recommend the H1N1 Mist or the shot for her ? The mist is readily available but I have to wait for the shots....
I was googling this morning and now I'm so confused !!

Hi Zulu, from Mom Friends who have gotten both: Flu Mist is supposedly free of Thimerosal and preservatives, but the shot does not have the live attenuated virus in it. I have no idea which is "better" given these two options! Confused myself...

I have read that children as young as her should receive 2 flu mist applications about 3 weeks apart.

Two of my children recieved the flu mist a few weeks ago with no problems...not even a stuffy nose.

I prefer the mist because it acts a little faster than the shot. The shot can take 2 weeks to become fully effective.

The "live" virus in the mist is so weakened I wasn't worried about it at all!

My girls (3 and 5) did the mist also. Absolutely zero side effects. Not even a runny nose.
Just make sure she is healthy... I am sure you know that...
