If consumers refuse to buy cr@p, then food companies will change their practices. Until this happens, sadly nothing will change.
I stopped eating meat years ago once I understood the environmental impact. I buy only organic products for my family, and cook most meals "from scratch." We eat out infrequently. And, we belong to a CSA. However, eating "green" can be expensive.
If we all demand better quality by not buying what most supermarkets sell, things will change, and to be competitive, prices will drop. Thus, making it possible for more Americans to have access to healthier food.

Ex-actly. And they point this out during this thing, esp at the end.
Re the download, just hit "cancel" and confirm, should be fine. I wouldn't think Mac vs PC would matter.
it's an excellent documentary. sadly much like fast food nation and that sort of thing, which while set up to be worst case scenario {ie every meal @ mcdonalds, no fresh choices, etc} those who will learn from it for the most part are the ones who already know this information. Those who don't want to accept basic science for fact will come up with a thousand reasons why 'it's faked' or some such.
BTW for the Mac users and others who have trouble with the file: it's available for instant viewing on Netflix and if you don't already have netflix you can sign up for the two week trial, watch the movie and then cancel netflix, no problems, no hassles.
I'm not getting the Mac problem thing as there is no download or install of anything required, or shouldn't be. I thought the 'net looked basically the same regardless of platform. oh well
mk I disagree. I think there are many like me who are vaguely aware or suspect such things but can learn a lot (or at the very least be reminded of it) and many more who are utterly clueless that wouldn't dismiss it as they have little reason to. It has nothing to do with accepting basic science because it's not a "science issue." It's not like we're discussing M theory or homeopathy or something. This is a social/political issue.
I have not seen the movie but I have certainly heard a great deal about it. Unfortunately, the SAD diet (standard American diet) is totally addictive and people are willing to risk their health and even DEATH rather than turn away from the garbage that is on our store shelves and eat whole, natural foods.
As a person who is involved in a health and wellness career my goal is to try to help people understand the importance of the food they eat. You would be amazed how much negativity I get for that.
I don't know what the answer is. I wish I did.
