Islam enriched Indian society and eventually gave way to stalwarts like Hyder Ali, Tipu Sultan, and millions of freedom fighters, including Jinnah, who happened to be Gandhi's devoted disciple and a ferocious and educated freedom fighter...... until the redcoats took him in for some brain damage sessions about the evil hindus

Jinnah once famously said, "I'd rather my motherland be ruled by an Indian terrorist than a polished Englishman"

That's a bit of revisionist history. The All-India Muslim League had been pushing for an independent Muslim state for better than 50 years before the partition and Muhammad Jinnah's intransigence during the final negotations forced Mountbattens hand. So much so, in fact, that independence was granted BEFORE the borders of the new countries were established and before either the new India or the new Pakistan were ready to deal with such a massive migration of people.

History is never written by the vanquished. When it finally is, it becomes revisionist

To the victor goes not only the right to the spoils, but the right to tell the story.

However, in the case of India/Pakistan/Bangladesh, the vanquished were the British.

And Hindus didn't go on a killing spree? The problem was from BOTH sides. Now, back to the previously scheduled topic...
