They fought for Finland (which was a democracy even back then) and against the USSR. They had no control over the fact that Finnish and Nazi interests aligned at that point in time.

There were a handful of German Jews who even served in the Wehrmacht or even in the SS. The idea is the best place to hide is in plain sight!!! Yes some even fooled the most enthusiastic enforcer of the Nuremberg Laws --Heinrich Himmler himself. Some of these people held lesser Jew ranking like being only quarter Jews. Although my mother was not Jewish by choice, I would have had a problem with German racial laws if Britain had fallen under German-Nazi control in lets say 1940

It is based on the autobiography of Solomon Perel, a German Jewish boy who switches sides during the fighting on the Eastern Front, he gets recognition for his bravery and ends up being sent to the elite Hitler Youth School in Berlin. A bold plan, but he has a little problem, he is circumcised.

Maybe it had to do with the fact that some or many Jews did not support Zionism and didn't agree with Jews that did support divisive Zionism. Maybe that's why some Jews fought for Hitler.

In this case, they were against Bolshevism. Russian Communism. As was most of Europe.
WORLD WAR II HISTORY magazine had a legnthy illustrated article, just a month ago, about several part-Jews who were Nazi officers. One in particular was high-ranking. I don't know if the article could be read on-line ?
My best friends uncle was a half Jewish bomber pilot- he flew over England and dropped his bombs off target on empty fields. Turned in by one of his flight crew eventually and imprisoned towards the end of the war.

PS - What's with the weird notion than invading the USSR in 1941 was somehow a way to oppose Zionism? As late as 1934, Zionism was outlawed in the Soviet Union; it wasn't until several years after Barbarossa was launched that the Soviet Union came (temporarily) to explicitly support Zionism. And it's not like Zionism succeeded or failed based on Soviet policy. As such, the entire idea of "I dislike Zionism! Therefore, we must invade the USSR!" is completely nonsensical.
