The '90s: The Last Great Decade? | National Geographic Channel

Any reviews? Interesting in that the 1990s is considered the Last Great Decade when we had a quite a boom in the 2000s until 2007 or 2008 depending where you worked.

Have seen the previous The '80s: The Decade that Made Us and thought it incorporated too many popular media events which did not affect everyday life. Although it was an interesting nostalgic rewind.

I did--apparently one of the few, lol! It was so boring, I pretty much watched a little, ff, then erased all three episodes. What a waste!

I thought it was very interesting and I do agree that it's the last great decade. Since the 2000s our society has become too extreme on EVERYTHING. The 2000s and 2010s suck compared to the 90s.

I saw it, the 80s was a lot longer and more comprehensive. But I love these pop culture history shows, VH1 had a series called I love the 90s.

Yeah, the 90s were so much simpler in comparison. Airports weren't a cattle-call experience, airlines didn't nickel & dime everyone, surveillance cameras weren't all over the place, more people took personal responsibility for their own actions, my standard of living was better, etc.

Everything became extreme in the 2000s? Would you please elaborate on that statement? I take it you were too young or missed out on the edgy music, movies, TV shows and looks of the 1990s. Without the 90s, there would not be a 2000s or 2010s decade.

The 1990s were so boring compared to the 1980s. What did you expect?

The touchy feely 1990s were simpler than the 2000s in some ways. Who really wants to revisit a decade where angsty teenagers were the voice of the time? Ugh.

I watched it. It was like revisiting my much younger days. Please understand I was born in 1986. I have a different perspective of the 90s. I experienced it as a kid. Now I look back at those days as being my childhood.

I mean politically extreme mostly. Both sides of the political spectrum seem to be so much more extreme these days than in the 90s. It seems that so many people nowadays seem to deal in black and white in politics and seem to make everything political. Maybe that happened in the 90s and I didn't notice it then?
