Just wondering if anyone knows the history about the dog Sinbad who was deployed on the USS Campbell during World War II? Anyone know any history about this dog and his service to the US?

Thank you for the wonderful information! I am certain that little fellow brought much comfort and companionship to those on that ship. He also probably gave them a laugh or two with his antics.

I retired U.S.C.G., and many stations had mascots with nautical names, like "Boats", "Mariner", and such. These dogs were honored at inspections, given ranks and promotions, and demoted at trials with the Captain and crew for biting or doing other things that civilian dogs do. It was fun. Check on internet "Coast Guard Mascots".

Thank you so much for this information! It is very interesting and entertaining reading as I love dogs and sincerely appreciate the dedication and loyalty of our men and women in uniform. God bless you!
