I like said, I would go for free. I wouldn't be there to use my knowledge of the future and as far as I am concerned, you can wipe my slate clean of the future. I don't want to know what the world faces ahead. Do you have anyone here that lived in the 50s and wouldn't want to go back?

Sure! I love sociological experiments.

As long as I could be assured I would not die there from the more primitive medical care. Or be given a radical mastectomy if i got breast cancer.

I'm guessing it was no fun for blacks and gays.

Actually, I think you would find that the blacks I knew then would be happy to climb in the time capsule with me. I grew up in Cass County, MI and our population was about 1/3 black: http://discovercasscounty.com/underground-railroad/ They were farmers, factory workers, etc. just like everyone else. We all used the same bathroom, drank from the water fountain, rode the same bus, went to the same schools and we were all friends. I am not sure what you know about history but location, location, location was important. I could ask my best friend from high school next time I talk with her but I think I know her well enough to say that we'll both be backed and ready.

Gays? I have no idea what their story was back then. People generally kept their sexual lives quiet back then and everyone kind of wanted to appear like they didn't have one when they were outside their own home.

I'd go back. Although I was a little child in the 50s all accounts of that time showed the period to be much more pleasant than life today.

I only know about the 50's from my parents and movies but it seems like a nice, innocent time. I would be happy to be a homemaker if that is what I am supposed to do for the 5 years. No problem. With the way the world is now I may even choose to just stay in the 50's forever lol...

How many people would take that money to live in Korea or China from 1950-55?
For women, hanging onto the money would be her only problem. A man would likely end up dead.
