How about your explaining why anyone needs to read this rather than simply handing out a homework assignment?

Stinnett is a conspiracy nut and reviewers found that many of his claims are baseless. I`ll pass on this one.

America needs to remember December 7th. If we learn the lesson of always being alert and on watch, then we might avoid a very unpleasant surprise someday.

"A day that will live in infamy."

My father and both uncles served in the resulting war, my dad getting the bronze star and purple heart. He saw action in both the Pacific and Europe, where he was seriously wounded in combat.

Never forget.

Stay alert America. I’ve been to the Arizona memorial a couple of times. On one visit I had a chance to speak to Richard Fiske a volunteer guide at the memorial. He was on the West Virginia as part of the ship’s Marine Detachment.

Quite a guy. Later he fought on Iwo Jima. Post war he enlisted in the Air Force where he served until retirement. He had a large photo album he carried with lots of pictures of his service career over the years. Passed away several years ago.

Father-in-law arrived in Pearl Harbor after the attack. He did not serve in combat but he did see horrors. He was a Navy hospital corpsman working in the morgue that received the sailors and Marines killed in the Pacific before being sent home.
