Just got done watching a good 2 hour show about America's Ancient peoples (Journey to 10,000 BC) before the Native Americans i.e. ''Clovis People''. Interesting that the Clovis points are found in the Southwest USA and heavely found in Virginia and also France so Paleo Scientists are wowed that these ancient people possibly came across the Atlantic Ocean at around 13,000 B.C.

As to what happened to these people and all the extinct animals they found Fullerenes in the soils from around that time as Fullerenes are from Meteors so possibly a giant meteor slammed into the ice sheets and killed most in North America with the exception of the Bison.

Anyway it's on again today at 2.00 P.M. EST and 11.00 A.M. PST for those who want to watch it.

On next is the 2 hour show ''Clash of the Cavemen'' at 25,000 BC Europe as the Cro Magnon (Humans) vs the Neanderthals.

No thats it for today and they don't show it on their later schedual. I just turned on the TV this morning and caught both shows by accident.

Neanderthals were short and stocky and muscular and built for the cold where as we Cro Magnons (Humans) were taller and slender and built more for endurance and for hotter weather but we beat them as we developed intellegence and created throwing spears and eventually killed them off from Europe.

The Scientists are comparing the Neanderthal Mitochondrial (Mother) DNA and even though they are our closest relative at over 99% of matching DNA they showed that there is no Neanderthal DNA in our Genome so most likely there wasn't intermingling between the species as was once thought.

Good shows with lots of the latest Science in Anthropology and DNA,

That was the other show about the Neanderthals.

The first one was about the ''true'' first Americans as the Clovis peoples were in America before the Native Americans. They think they traveled across the giant ice sheet across the Atlantic Ocean and killed sea animals (Seals, Dolphins and Whales etc..) for food on their journey as they came up for air and journeyed from France.

I watched a couple of shows on the Discovery Channel yesterday called ''Before we ruled the earth'' which was about the Neanderthals and early Paleo Humans and a couple of things stood out.

First the Neanderthals buried all their dead and sometimes with ornaments with them so Paleotologists think that Neanderthals may had thought of an after life although it's still debatable and secondly more along the Diet Wars and not history but it's still history and that is both Paleo Humans and Neanderthals all had ''High Nitrogen'' in their bones and teeth which meant that they were definately meat eaters and ate wild berries and ate very little wild grains for over 100,000 years and longer and not vegetarians as some say but that's for another debate on the health forums .
