Looking

Yes, there's a discrepancy of 200 years.
Castille sided with English Catholics when Henry VIII kicked Catherine of Aragon, the daughter of Ferdinand and Isabella.
So Castille was part of a Civil War, English Catholics lost.
Before, Castille and England were allies and the Monarchs were closely related.
Queen Isabella of Spain was a Lancaster and a Plantagenet and she spoke English.
Catholic nobility in England remains being pro-Spanish after 500 years.
There's also the Black Legend.

Keep invading countires on borrowed debt while not taking care of your own.

Just like Spain.
Spain invaded the entire world on borrowed debt and the country was in shambles.

Spain did not invade the entire world.

I do not think that they would have been able to pay for anything if all that they had borrowed was "debt."

"How much is that?"
"It cost ten gold coins."
"Will you accept this note which says that the bearer owes Rodrigo ten gold coins?"

The entire Known World, by then English did it behind bushes.
As to debts, check Fugger Bankers or Fucheros, the bankers of the Augsburg dinasty.
Charles the First of Spain and Fifth of Germany was living thanks to the advanced credit of the fourth and fifth silver shipment from America.
Not only that, the Augsburg were so broke that the gave Venezuela to the Fugger Bankers, but they tried to exterminate Indians and were expelled and the Spanish had to return.
