Sounds like Erik Karlsson to the Lightning is official. Not sure what the return for Ottawa is yet.

Karlsson becomes an unrestricted free agent after the 2018-2019 season. If the Ottawa Senators are in postseason contention for the 2018-2019 season, Karlsson stays. If they are dwelling at the bottom of the Atlantic Division, Karlsson becomes a rental player.
Ottawa is very likely going to be a bottom-5 team this upcoming season and won't have their 1st in the next draft. They need to end the EK era and just start fresh ASAP before they lose him for nothing or get desperate as the season wears on and get little value for him as the trade deadline approaches.
There's not a shot in hell Karlsson is going to want to resign with the Senators.

Agree 100%. Ottawa needs to trade him for maximum return. Don’t do what my Islanders did by thinking Tavares was coming back because he told the team not to trade him at the trading deadline, Now they got nothing for him leaving.
I think there's some rumors then the GM post of the Detroit Red Wings might be open for the 2019 off-season.
